Methods: Sandcasting, Stamped Words
Form: Whetū Stars

This beautiful little star pendant necklace is cast in 100% recycled sterling silver or 9ct Alluvial gold from New Zealand and measures approximately 1.5cm across. It is finished with a solid silver or gold 45cm chain.

The star is individually stamped with the word “Aroha” on the reverse meaning love and compassion. You can select to have your pendant necklace personalised with a different word (up to 5 letters per star) for a small additional cost.

This necklace represents the star (and constellation) Matariki or Pleiades. In many indigenous cultures world-wide, the constellation Pleiades is important. Matariki signifies the beginning of the Māori New Year when it rises above the horizon at dawn in mid-winter. It is a time of reflection about the year past, preparation for the year ahead, and a chance to celebrate the value of friends, family and community.
