Pausing to see the beautiful imperfection of the world, in all it’s glory, is a gift.

I am Sonia Therese

Beautiful Handmade Jewellery
Pausing to see the beautiful imperfection of the world, in all it’s glory, is a gift. Seeing that same imperfection in one-another allows us to value diversity, unique experiences and feel connected. Being present to that same one-of-a-kind beauty that WE bring to the world. When we believe in the beauty of ourselves, appreciating our ‘faults’ as unique gifts, then the entire world begins to change – OUR world changes.

This is what drives me, why I make jewellery and defines how I present myself in the world. I am Sonia and I am incredibly grateful to be connected with you.

Sandcast Open Porowhita Circle Necklace

SKU 00005
Beautiful hand-made rings individually cast in New Zealand beach sand, celebrating our sense of belonging and place in the world
In stock
Product Details

Cast individually in sustainable New Zealand beach or river sand, this beautiful, organic circle necklace is made from recycled sterling silver or 9ct Alluvial Gold from New Zealand. Each necklace has it’s own unique texture reflecting the sand within which it is created. Your porowhita open circle measures approximately 15mm in diameter and is approx 2mm in width.

The open circle shape, or Porowhita in Te Reo Māori, represents the understanding that the Universe has no beginning and no ending, and symbolises the cycle of life and our eternal remembering and forgetting – a journey of endless discovery!

This necklace features a beautiful sandcast texture which has been designed to connect you to a place, offer you a sense of belonging and remind you of all those who have come before you. Inspired by the Māori concept of tūrangawaewae, often translated as ‘a place to stand’. Tūrangawaewae are places where we feel especially empowered and connected.

Select from our collection of New Zealand sand, or send in your own sand from YOUR special place (currently only available to New Zealand locations due to import restrictions).

Your necklace comes with a 45cm silver or gold chain
