Scars, scratches, bruises, broken bones – these are the physical reminders of the journey that we are all on as Wahine Toa. Sometimes we look at the wrinkles, the scars, the “imperfections” and we judge – we judge each other, and we judge ourselves. But you know what? Those marks, and the matching ones inside of our souls and minds, are what make us who we are. And I am here to tell you that YOU are beautiful because of your scars, not in spite of them.
These earrings represent and remind us that we are who we are, and that we can powerfully take ownership of our true beauty, inside and out.
They are made from fine silver, hammered to create a unique texture that represent our own personal scars, bumps and breaks on this journey through life – and to show the intense beauty we all have when we embrace those scars. The triangle shape is that of the Toki – a powerful symbol of courage and strength to the Maori People of New Zealand; and axe traditionally used to fight, to show status and to present power. The earrings are individually wrapped in fine silver wire and finished with a delicate koru- a spiral that represents new beginnings, harmony, balance and growth.
Each earring is finished with genuine sterling silver earhooks or post/scroll and come in 3 different sizes:
- Small: measuring 1cm x 2.5cm
- Medium: measuring 1.5cm x 3.5cm
- Large:measuring 2cm x 5cm
