On the eve of the launch of my new Wahine Toa: Warrior Women Collection, I headed to the beach to have a quick chat with my Dad and my ancestor Grandmother, Puraurau. You see, it has been a week where my fears have risen in my throat, and it was time to go reconnect with the wisdom of my ancestors.
The Wahine Toa Collection is all about helping you, my Warrior Women, re-connect with your inner Goddess as well as remembering where you come from. This is a very strong philosophy in my culture where the experience and wisdom of those who have gone before us is right beside us when we need it. Maori believe that this wisdom is in the mountains, the trees, the ocean – our whole environment is embedded with this wisdom and all we need to do is connect with it.
For me, the best way to do this is to re-connect with myself – face my fears, acknowledge my purpose and remember why I am doing what I am doing.
INGA KEI TE MOHIO KOE KO WAI KOE I ANGA MAI KOE; HEA, KEI TE MOHIO KOE, KEI TE ANGA ATU KI HEA
If you know who you are and where you come from, then you will know where you are going
I am so excited to bring this collection to you – really really excited. I hope that you will also be able to reconnect with yourself and your purpose as I have.
