These beautiful little star earrings are cast in 9ct alluvial gold from New Zealand and measure approximately 1.5cm across each. They comes with a your choice of handmade gold earhooks, or a stud finishing.

Each star is hand-stamped with the word “Aroha” on the reverse meaning love and compassion. If you prefer a different word (up to 5 letters per star) you can select to have your earrings personalised for free.  Just enter the word you would like in the box provided when you place your order.

These earrings represent the star (and constellation) Matariki or Pleiades. In many indigenous cultures world-wide, the constellation Pleiades is important. Matariki signifies the beginning of the Māori New Year when it rises above the horizon at dawn in mid-winter. It is a time of reflection about the year past, preparation for the year ahead, and a chance to celebrate the value of friends, family and community.
