Description
Tino Rangatiratanga – Self determination, Sovereignty, Autonomy
These hand cut and polished long earrings feature the beautiful koru/spiral that has come to symbolise the concept of Tino Rangatiratanga in the Māori world view. This phrase was used in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the Treaty of Waitangi to grant Māori exclusive and undisturbed possession and authority of their whenua (land), kainga (homes) and taonga (treasured and valued items)
Styled on the Tino Rangatiratanga flag, designed in 1989 and representing the Māori origin story, this necklace is powerful statement.
The earrings measure approximately 2cm wide and 5cm long and are available in your choice of metal:
-
- Soft, warm yellow brass (perfect if you love yellow gold)
- Delicious copper (suits every skin tone)
- Ultra lightweight aluminum (zero tarnish compared to silver!)
- Sterling silver
Your earrings are finished with stainless steel earhooks
